Conquering the West, One State at a Time

Four more states down, Arizona, Nevada New Mexico and Utah.

New Mexico has a live chat feature. If you have any questions someone comes on the chat to help you. I like that. Want to bet that person gets some really odd questions?

I worked an 800 help line once for a manufacturing company. I never knew what I was going to be asked, had a quite a few laughs while doing that job!

Nice Touch

Yesterday I ordered the Montana's Guide. Checking the email today I discovered this from that state's governor:

Dear Kathleen,

Thanks for taking the time to visit Montana's Web site.

We hope you've been able to find the information you were looking for and that you learned a bit more about this very special place we Montanans feel privileged to call home. There are plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy a journey of a lifetime in Montana.

We hope to see you in Big Sky Country some time soon.Visit our web site often and let your friends know about it. You're always welcome at our site and in our state.

Governor Brian Schweitzer

Of course, I know it's an automatically generated email, but I think it's a nice touch.

Today I started ordering the free tour guides. So much easier than the 2004 trip, especially with the 'auto fill' tab on the Google toolbar!

Some states have wonderful and easy to navigate websites...others are more difficult. Obviously, the states with huge tourism budgets are the best. I've noticed a few with digital guides, much more advanced than only 4 years ago.

Ordered so far:

California
Oregon
Washington
Idaho
Montana

Time to Start Planning

January already!

I thought a blog would be a good idea to keep everyone current on the next RV trip. This way family and friends can keep track of where we are, sometimes even we don't know exactly where we are!

In the coming months I'll post about preparing for this next trip around the country. When we get on the road I'll keep a daily journal of our journey, hopefully the problems will be few and far between.

So come April, I hope you'll stop in and travel the U.S. with Jim and I.
